Back in Town

“Of course I missed you and of course I’m still wearing it. I don’t think I took it off once the entire time I was gone! Well.... except when Jake bit off my fingers.... but other than that!” He smiled at her. “Now then! Why don’t you and I go get lunch? A gentleman should always pamper his bride, if she’ll still have me that is,” he said, slowly extending a hand out to her

She looked at him a bit weary, but took his hand. "Bride? Does this mean we have to det married again?" She asked and sighed "Well, I mean i did have all of the papers filed a while back and my named changed back so..."

“You did? I went missing and you divorced me?! Ouch!” He makes sure he looks as offended as possible. “I could have died and you were just gonna divorce me?!”

She looked at him "You act like you were my first husband." She said and started walking "We will have lunch in the cafeteria" She said not turning back to him.

He stares at her as as she starts to walk away. “I may not be, but that’s still rude.” He said as he started to follow her. “Also, why the cafeteria? Aren’t they closed on the weekend?”

She smiled "Silly, its a work weekend for the teachers. They have food still" She said and wrapped her arms around him "I waited years for you. Eventually a girl has to give up."

He sweeps her off her feet and carries her toward the cafeteria. “Years? Years are nothing to beings like us. You could have waited at least half a century.”

She rolled her eyes and leaned her head against his. "Yes well, I got tired of waiting. Its wrong to make a girl feel the way i felt after you left."

“While I agree, I still think it was better than letting a girl live in a cave at the bottom of the ocean for a few years.” He poked her nose with his tail. “There are many things I wish that would have happened differently. But protecting you will never be a regret.”

She sighed and smiled "You could have given me some sign you were alive at least..." She said and kissed him softly

“Well... I kinda did. Though you probably didn’t notice. You creatures use your sight to see but you don’t look around.”

She growled and then sighed "Oh shut it. Make better hints if you ever disappear again. Just know if you do, you'll get a far worse welcome home."

“If I intend to disappear again, I’d probably be to afraid to come back,” he says with a nervous chuckle

She smiled "Good~" She sighed "now lets get some food"

“Just not seafood. That’s about all I’ve had to eat the last couple years.”
